Osama Bedier
Osama has executive experience in software development for companies where protection of customer information is paramount. As part of his contribution to the advisory board he is able to provide a broad perspective on the database security needs of enterprise customers. Additionally Osama has extensive experience in the areas of product development, program management, software engineering, eCommerce, streaming media, IP over satellite, digital rights management, and systems architecture. Currently, he is Vice President of platform, mobile and new ventures for PayPal, an eBay company that allows more than 87 million accounts in 190 markets to pay and get paid online, thus enabling global commerce. Osama was previously director of technology at DG Systems Inc./Starguide Satellite Systems and Initiative Manager of IT-B2B eCommerce at Gateway, Inc.
Jim Flyzik
Jim has served over 27 years in the federal government. His positions include Senior Advisor to Governor Ridge in the White House Office of Homeland Security (OHS). He has provided advice to OHS on the National Strategy and Information Management in support of the OHS mission. Jim served as the Vice Chair of the Federal Government CIO Council overseeing numerous government-wide IT initiatives and was also a member of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board. Jim has served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Systems and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of the Treasury. In this role he provided oversight, strategic planning and management direction on over $3.0 billion in annual information technology and information infrastructure programs within the Treasury and its Bureaus. Jim also served as the Acting Assistant Secretary for Management for the Treasury responsible for oversight of all Treasury bureaus. He was the principal policy advisor to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary on matters involving the internal management of the Department, receiving the Secretary Certificate of Appreciation for his efforts. Jim has worked for the U.S. Secret Service where he held key IT management positions. Currently he is President of TheFlyzikGroup which specializes in Strategic Business Consulting, Performance Based Contracting Consulting and Training and Thought Leadership events. Jim also serves as the Chairman of the AFCEA International Committee on Homeland Security. He hosts the monthly radio program, The Federal Executive Forum on WFED 1050 AM.
Mark Hoover
Mark has been involved in the technology and market development of networking technologies over a period of almost thirty years, including 10-BASET, IP routing, FDDI, ATM, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Ethernet Switching, Firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers. Prior to his present engagements, he was the President of Acuitive, a strategic marketing consulting firm that helped define product and market strategies for start-ups, including Brocade, Alteon Websystems, Netscreen, Maverick Semiconductor, Redline Networks, and many others. He started his career at AT&T Bell Labs and moved to SynOptics/Bay Networks before founding Acuitive.
