Unleash the Power of Data with Dataguise DgSecure for Amazon Web Services Apr 19, 2016
Company Shows Data-Centric Security Solution for the Detection, Protection, and Monitoring of Sensitive Information across Amazon S3 and Amazon EMR at the 2016 AWS Chicago Summit
CHICAGO, IL. — April 19, 2016 — Dataguise, a technology leader in secure business execution, today announced Dataguise DgSecure for the detection, protection and monitoring of sensitive data across Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) via the Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR) platform. The new integration will be shown for the first time at the AWS Summit in Chicago, April 19th in booth #623. With the addition of Amazon S3 and Amazon EMR support, Dataguise now provides comprehensive source coverage ranging from traditional Databases, to Hadoop and object storage for complete ownership of sensitive information.
As enterprises deal with the proliferation of sensitive data assets from an increasingly diverse set of sources, it has become an imperative for CISOs and data stewards to govern the security of all sensitive information at the business level instead of at the individual repositories. Dataguise is uniquely positioned to provide a comprehensive security and governance solution for big data, structured and unstructured data on-premises and in the cloud for complete source coverage with powerful processing and enterprise-wide visibility under a unified platform.
Dataguise DgSecure on AWS is a data-centric security platform that scans for sensitive information stored on Amazon S3 and identifies the location and status of this information throughout its lifecycle. The solution features transparent, role-based sensitive asset provisioning on the Amazon EMR platform so that users have access to sensitive data hosted on Amazon S3 through DgSecure role-based access policies.
Dataguise support for Amazon S3 is now included in DgSecure 6.0, the latest generation software, providing coverage of current sensitive data processing across all sources, including Hadoop, SQL, and NoSQL data and object repositories. A board-level business dashboard provides a single-pane–of-glass view indicating where all sensitive data resides in the organization, regardless of location or platform. Dashboard views are provided out of the box to enable stakeholders in enterprise data security to understand coverage, exposure, gaps, and progression.
Amazon EMR is growing in popularity as a platform for easily and efficiently processing enormous amounts of data using a hosted Hadoop framework running on the web-scale infrastructure of Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3. According to a report by IDC, “the five-year total cost of ownership (TCO) of developing, deploying, and managing critical applications in AWS delivered a 64.3% savings when compared with deploying the same resources on-premises or in hosted environments. The findings also showed a 560% ROI over five years and 81.7% less downtime. As of October 2015, Amazon Web Services was a $7.3 billion business with more than one million active enterprise customers.
“Ten years ago, Amazon Web Services began revolutionizing the way businesses approach computing. Today, the cloud is increasingly becoming the default deployment option for enterprises, a movement that AWS helped trigger,” said Tony Baer, principal analyst covering information management for Ovum. “By extending support to the AWS, Dataguise is following where its customers are going in embracing cloud computing. They are providing another piece of the puzzle in addressing the monitoring and protection of sensitive data, wherever it resides.”
“Support for Amazon S3 is a milestone for the company as it raises the bar for data-centric security solutions,” said Manmeet Singh, CEO, Dataguise. “Differentiated by the widest source coverage available, DgSecure enables users to unleash the power of data on-premises and in the cloud to achieve the anticipated return from investments in these areas. The introduction of this technology at the AWS Chicago Summit is expected to draw significant interest from enterprises leveraging AWS Cloud infrastructure.”
Dataguise invites attendees at AWS Summit in Chicago to visit the company’s booth #623 to learn more about DgSecure, which will be made available in Q2/2016. For more information about DgSecure on Amazon Web Services, download the datasheet: Securing Sensitive Data on Amazon Web Services.
